Renaissance walls you can walk on top of, the Leaning Tower up close and two completely different medieval cities — all in one private day from Florence, at your own pace.
Lucca and Pisa are just 25 kilometres apart — and completely different from each other. Pisa is the city of the Leaning Tower and the Campo dei Miracoli, one of the most extraordinary architectural ensembles in the world. But Pisa is also the Lungarno — the great riverside boulevard along the Arno where the light off the water and the succession of old palaces give you the first sense of the city's real scale and ambition. Most visitors see the Tower and leave. Your driver will show you the rest.
Lucca is the quiet counterpart — a city that has kept its character almost entirely intact behind the most perfectly preserved Renaissance walls in Italy. Wide enough at the top for an avenue of trees and a full 4-kilometre promenade, the walls are the first thing you see and the last thing you remember. Inside: the Via Fillungo, Piazza Anfiteatro built directly over the foundations of the Roman amphitheatre, and the Cathedral of San Martino with the tomb of Ilaria del Carretto — one of the masterpieces of Italian Gothic sculpture.
Between the two cities, the road passes through some of the most quietly beautiful countryside in Tuscany — past the Acquedotto Mediceo, through the hills of Montecarlo where some of the region's most underrated white wines are produced, and past the great 17th and 18th-century villas of the Lucchesia built by the merchant families of the old Republic. Your driver knows this road and what makes it worth taking slowly.
Pickup is at your door — hotel, villa or any address in Tuscany. The sequence of cities, the optional winery stop, the pace of the day — all of it is yours to decide. The hourly rate covers everything from the moment your driver arrives to the moment you are dropped back.
This is our recommended sequence for the day. Every stop, timing and order can be adjusted to suit your group and your starting point.
Your driver collects you from your hotel, villa or any address in Tuscany. Departure time is entirely your choice — we recommend leaving by 9:00am to make the most of the day.

Free time to explore at your own pace — your driver is reachable by WhatsApp throughout.
