Discover Pisa and Volterra with Our Amazing Private Day Tour
Book your Private Day Tour in advance and get ready for an unforgettable experience in Tuscany, exploring the wonders of Pisa and Volterra. This is the easiest and most comfortable way to enjoy the true essence of Tuscany while traveling in a Driver Service (NCC).
A Journey Through History and Beauty
We begin our adventure in Pisa, where the iconic Piazza dei Miracoli will leave you breathless. Marvel at the famous Leaning Tower, started in 1173 and completed 200 years later. Don’t miss the chance to climb the 294 steps for a stunning view of the city. Visit the magnificent Cathedral, which started construction in 1063, and the beautiful Baptistery, begun in 1153, both outstanding examples of medieval architecture.
Next, we’ll head to Piazza dei Cavalieri, the second most important square in Pisa, home to the impressive Church of Santo Stefano dei Cavalieri. Once a month, excluding the two summer months, the streets surrounding Piazza dei Cavalieri transform into a vibrant open-air market, providing the perfect opportunity to discover local crafts.
Nearby, stroll through the beautiful Botanical Garden, one of the oldest botanic gardens in the world. Other magnificent attractions in Pisa include the Gothic Church of Santa Maria della Spina, the Royal Palace, and the Museum of the Opera del Duomo.
Volterra: The City of Etruscans
After exploring Pisa, we’ll make our way to Volterra, a historic city known for its legendary Etruscan history and pristine alabaster. Situated on a hilltop 531 meters above sea level, Volterra offers breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys. You’ll have the chance to visit the Roman Theater (1st century B.C.), Piazza dei Priori – one of the most beautiful squares in Italy – the Palazzo dei Priori, and the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta.
Don’t miss the Medici Fortress and the Etruscan Guarnacci Museum, home to thousands of funerary urns from the Hellenistic and archaic periods. Volterra is also famous for its alabaster craft shops and local delights like Pecorino, a delicious sheep’s milk cheese produced in this region.
